SUMMER CELBRATION 2013
The Summer Celebration is an opportunity to hear about the work of the Mothers' Union over the last year in addition to hearing from our guest speaker: Fiona Thomas, the Communications Officer in our Central Marketing Unit at Mary Sumner House.

COLLECTING PROJECTS TO INCLUDE FOODBANKS.
The Action and Outreach Unit is encouraging branches to get involved in local FoodBank initiatives. Foodbanks seek to provide three days of emergency food supplies to local people who have been identified by local care professionals. The Foodbanks are also able to signpost attendees to other organisations that may be able to help with the longer term situation. Non-perishable foods are required and a sample list from a foodbank in Harrogate is shown here - please see our Collecting Projects section on the UK Projects page for more information.

HELP US GROW CHALLENGE 
This year there is a challenge to every Mothers' Union member to think about how they can invite a new member to Mothers' Union. Mary Sumner House have produced a comprehensive resource pack that has been sent to every diocese. This includes a DVD and PowerPoint presentations. NEW WORLDWIDE PRESIDENT COMMISSIONED
Lynne Tembey (left) - was commissioned as the new Worldwide President. In a private ceremony held on Monday 3rd December, at St Matthew's Church, Westminster, UK, Archbishop Rowan Williams commissioned. Lynne was called to a service of obedience to meeting the agenda of the needy.
